Felicity works primarily in pastel which links colour with drawing and is immediate, fresh and vibrant, but her subject matter dictates the medium and inks, watercolours and oils are also used.

Felicity is an elected member of The Pastel Society and exhibits each year at The Pastel Society Annual Exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London

Drawing is fundamental to Felicity’s work.

Instinctively searching for lines and shapes that interest her most she make drawings and paintings directly from the subject with a fresh eye and lively hand. Enjoying the challenge of working to the inevitable boundary of time.

Inspired by travel and new places she equally responds to domestic subject matter; intriguing arrangements and complex interiors are a fascination

Studio works are developed from her collection of sketchbook drawings or studies made  on location

In addition to showing in the annual Pastel Society Exhibition Felicity’s work is regularly selected for Open Exhibitions notably :

  • New English Art Club
  • The Royal West of England Academy Annual Exhibition
  • The Royal Society of Portrait Painters
  • The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition
  • The Discerning Eye

For many years Felicity tutored courses at The Arts University in Bournemouth and West Dean College Chichester
Felicity writes articles for publications : the Artist Magazine and Artists & Illustrators Magazine and features in the recent book ‘Pure Pastels : contemporary work by today’s top pastel artists ‘ by Anne Hevener.
