Born in Cambridge, Sue later moved to West Dorset. She has an Honours degree in Fine Art (Sculpture) from Kingston upon Thames afterwards returning to Dorset, this time to the Isle of Purbeck where she lives and works today. Sue is a qualified teacher of Art and Design, later becoming a Head Teacher in the fields of Mental Health and Special Educational Needs.
At the heart of Sue’s work is an exploration of our symbiotic relationship with the landscape, the effect of time and tide, the dynamic nature of change and impermanence, and the way that the passage of time shows in the strata on which we stand.
She works with stone, clay, silver, bronze and paint, often combining media within one piece.
Sue exhibits both locally and nationally. Her work has been selected for the ING Discerning Eye exhibition at The Mall Galleries in London in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
In addition to developing her own work, Sue regularly leads Mindfulness & Creativity Retreats at various venues in Dorset.
